of conditions we treat. The diagnosis of endocrine and metabolic diseases is
always a challenge. These abnormalities and diseases are manifested
differently in every person. People are affected differently due to several
factors: genetic background, age, sex, and physiological states such as
pregnancy and other diseases present. These factors may change or modulate
the appearance and quality of symptoms, at times giving a false appearance
of a "normal" situation before any clinical symptoms (medically known as
subclinical condition) are evident.
